++ IT ALL STARTS – NOW++

Ahrweiler BC has kicked off preparations for the 2025/26 Rheinlandliga season – with a new coaching duo, clear energy, and the quiet buzz that only the first day of training brings.

Sunday morning, 11 AM, Apollinaris Stadium. Mike Wunderlich and Kevin Pires Rodriguez are leading their first training session, welcoming their team, with four of the five new signings already present. After a brief address, the ball starts rolling. Passing drills, shots, practice games – it's not loud, but focused, alert, demanding.

Head coach Wunderlich is satisfied: "Very positive first impression, we have a balanced squad and good foundations."

Almir Porca, a two-goal scorer in the final match between Blue and Red, states it simply: "We all performed well."

And new signing Jonas-Gilberto Sola Vicente, most recently captain of the U19 team at Sportfreunde Troisdorf, praised the reception: "Very friendly welcome, lots of fun, and the level is really high."

The starting gun has fired.

The first test match is scheduled to take place at the Apollinaris stadium as early as next Saturday – ABC is still looking for an opponent for a test match!
