++🔴⚪ U17 SEASON PREVIEW: TITLE CHALLENGE AND DEVELOPMENT FIRMLY IN SIGHT ⚽💪++

Unlike last season, when the U17 team was in the relegation battle of the Bezirksliga for a long time and only reached calmer waters under the sporting leadership of Karl Heinz Classen – the fourth head coach since the start of the season – the U17 team wants to have a say in the title and the return to the Rheinlandliga in the upcoming season. 🏆⚔️

With the newly assembled coaching quartet of Joe Yankey, Karl Heinz Classen, Fabian Lorca, and Jürgen Deutsch, the team is very well-positioned on the coaching bench. 👥🧠 The squad also gives hope for a successful season. 🌟

The squad:

Eight players have moved up to the U19 Rheinlandliga team. The current 25-man squad consists of nine players from last season, while 12 players have joined from our own U15 – some of whom already wore the U17 jersey last season and played a significant role in staying in the league. 💪🔝 Additionally, five interesting and high-performing external new signings have been acquired. 16 players still belong to the younger B-junior age group and can also play for the U17 next season. 👶⚽

The Preparation:

Due to the summer holidays, which took place immediately before the start of the season, the integration process was not optimal – a problem that applies to all teams, however. 🌞🗓️ Overall, the U17 played four test matches, of which only the duel with Rhineland League team SG Mülheim-Kärlich (5:5) had a real competitive character. Nevertheless, these matches provided the young talents with the necessary match practice. 🎯 The biggest takeaway from the pre-season so far, according to Fabian Lorca, is that they are starting the season with a very balanced squad: "We are well-staffed in all positions," says Lorca, who, along with his coaching colleagues, is pleased that the team has already come together very quickly, despite ongoing competition. 🤝🏃‍♂️

Goals

The trainers and their proteges are in agreement: they want to compete for promotion for as long as possible. In parallel, the individual development of the players is a primary goal for the coaches. 🚀 "We want to bring the players to a higher level," adds Lorca. 🏋️‍♂️

This coming weekend, the U17 team kicks off the season with an away game against the promoted team JSG Masterhausen. ⚽🛣️ In the Rheinlandpokal, the team begins with a match against JSG Spessart. We wish our U17 team a successful, injury-free, and happy 2024/2025 season. 🍀🙌
