To conclude the Rheinlandliga season, Ahrweiler BC once again made a statement on the 34th matchday. The district side secured a dominant 4-1 (1-0) victory on Sunday against the already relegated SG Westerburg\/Gem\u00fcnden\/Willmenrod and finished the season in fourth place in the final standings. Almir Porca shone with a brace, while Christian Scheu celebrated his first goal in the red-and-whites' jersey in his last game for ABC.<\/p>\n
The match on the grass pitch in Gem\u00fcnden, refereed by Erhan G\u00fcm\u00fcs, began under difficult external conditions \u2013 poor pitch conditions made structured passing play almost impossible. As a result, Ahrweiler BC increasingly shifted their offensive play to long balls into the attack. SG Westerburg, who, as the seventeenth-placed team, have already been relegated to the Bezirksliga, defensively resisted the imminent defeat with a compact formation and managed to land occasional blows in the form of counter-attacks in the first half.<\/p>\n
The guests' best phase before the break began after half an hour: Kevin Wetschorek and Leon Waldminghaus initially missed good opportunities before Christian Scheu headed in the deserved lead after a set piece from Nam-Ju Lee (44th). With the restart, ABC showed a transformed performance: \"We came straight out of the locker room with fire,\" said coach Julian Feit afterwards. \"In the first half, the gaps were still too large, and we couldn't establish any rhythm in the game. But then we showed our true colors in the second half,\" analyzed Feit, who, along with co-trainer Martin Weber, will take over FV Engers in the new season. To conclude, both drew a positive summary: \"A sensational year 2025 \u2013 twelve wins out of 15 games, all home games won.
