++3:3 AFTER 3:1 LEAD: THE "THIRD" MUST ACCEPT EQUALIZER IN STOPPAGE TIME++

For the first time without head coach Mohamed Abou-Ayda, who had resigned a few days prior, Ahrweiler BC III traveled to an away game against SG Ahrtal II on Friday. Even though the team had to settle for a 3:3 draw in the end, despite a 1:3 lead, interim player-coach Furkan Kalin was satisfied with his team's performance: "We kept the ball moving quite well for long stretches and played decent combination football," the midfielder concluded positively, taking an overall look at the game.

The district town players had actually already sealed the deal. Omer Zoranic (20', 64') and Luan Gerguri (51') had put the team in front 1:3 with their goals, despite a goal from Tim Schmitz (26'), but the hosts came back with grit and their strong left attacking side to a 3:3 draw. Robin Schmitz (79') and Tim Schmitz again (90+4) with a penalty in added time brought their team level. "All in all, we can live with the point," said Kalin, whose team will face second-placed SG Inter Sinzig II on Friday evening in Remagen.
