This coming Saturday (October 8th), Ahrweiler BC III will be guests of the promoted team SGL Heimersheim II on the 9th matchday of Kreisliga C. The match kicks off at 2:30 PM on the Heimersheim artificial turf pitch.
Michelle Sulewski's team, which launched the current "2nd Team" project in 2018 and has since not only established itself but also consistently led it upwards, has been waiting for a win for three games, but has faced strong opponents from Unkelbach, Burgbrohl, and SC Sinzig. They recently drew 1-1 against Sinzig. From the three home games played so far, the team, whose top scorer Jan Schröder scored five goals, has earned six points. Of the direct head-to-head matches, ABC III won two games in Kreisliga D. Heimersheim II won the district cup.
ABC head coach Mohamed Abou-Ayda expects a match against a team that is strong on the ball, well-prepared, and has good tactics. "It's derby time. Commitment and mentality have to be right. We want to continue playing in the top third of a very balanced Kreisliga C, which is stronger compared to previous years," says the ABC's coach. In terms of personnel, the Ahrweiler third team can draw from almost their entire squad according to the current situation. Kilian Görgen is back from vacation.
