++AHRWEILER BC / ABC PORTRAIT++

Facts, figures, and trivia about Ahrweiler BC in the form of an ABC profile. We will start with the letters K-Z.

K – Carnival:

The Carnival in Bad Neuenahr is a piece of home and tradition. The AKG Ahrweiler, the Neuenahrer Schinnebröder, KG Bunte Kuh, KG Rot-Weiß Bachem, and KG Närrische Landskrone shape the image of the district town from November 11th to Ash Wednesday through a great deal of commitment, creativity, and high identification with our hometown. For the Ahrweiler BC, it has become a tradition to participate in the Carnival parades in Ahrweiler and Bad Neuenahr on both Sundays and Mondays. Participation in Carnival sessions has also become an integral part of club life.

L – LAGA:

In 2022, the fifth Rhineland-Palatinate State Garden Show will be held in Bad Neuenahr. "Strong together for an unforgettable State Garden Show 2022." This is the motto of the Friends of the State Garden Show Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler 2022 association. The Ahrweiler BC, as one of the city's clubs, will also be committed to the successful realization of the LAGA.

M – Mouthguards:

The visible symbol of the pandemic. For self-protection as well as for the protection of others, the face mask is currently indispensable. Various face masks are also available in the ABC-Fanshop (https://new.ahrweilerbc.de/shop/) available.

N – Losses:

In the 80 league games played so far in the currently suspended season for senior and junior teams, the ABC teams have suffered 30 defeats.

O – Premier League:

Currently further than ever and a bit overused as a term at the ABC in 2020. But the fifth league level remains the sporting goal.

Partnership

The ABC is in talks with various clubs from regional to district league level about potential partnerships on different levels.

Quarantine

One of the terms that stood for 2020. The ABC was also affected. Thus, several players, coaches, and board members had to go into quarantine, mostly for several days, in the past year.

R – Referees:

A total of four referees are active for Ahrweiler BC. In addition to Fabian Schneider (27), who referees in both the 3rd league and the Regionalliga, Markus Jüris (44) and the two junior referees Julian Pelikan (17) and Jannis Weinitschke (14) are also part of the quartet of "Men in Black."

S – Shop:

Whether it's a cap, scarf, hoodie, pen, towels, or face mask. At the ABC fan shop, where over 20 items are now offered, there's something for every ABC fan to find. Just take a look: https://new.ahrweilerbc.de/shop/

T - Goalscorers:

The top scorers of ABC at the winter break come from the ranks of the E-Juniors. Above all, Gustaf Scharnbeck from the E I-Juniors, who scored 13 goals. Joans Printzen (E I) and Ilay Gega (E III) were each successful ten times. Among the seniors, Leon Trabert from the 3rd team is in the top position with six goals.

U – Overly territorial:

At the regional level, the C-Juniors are the most successful team of the current season. The team led by Kadir Armagan was in fourth place in the Rheinlandliga at the time of the Corona break. The ABC juniors earned 15 points from six games. However, the E-Juniors coached by Daniel Schmitt and Andreas Küpper boast the best record overall. The young ABC players have been unstoppable so far, with six wins in six games.

V – Board of Directors:

Over the past year, there have been two personnel changes on the board of directors. For personal and business reasons, Aniko Schweigert and Leo Henz resigned from their positions and will be provisionally replaced by Michael Hildebrandt and Gianfranco Di Francesco.

W – Winter Arrivals/Departures:

Kenan Sehic, Ajdin Sukalic, and Finn Hennerkes left ABC during the winter break. There was also a winter signing with forward Saint Ric Batantou, who transferred from 1.FC Hardtberg to Ahr.

X – XX chromosomes:

Women's power at ABC. The C-Juniors, with players Cara Amendt and Jule Rohleder and coach Jule Dreesbach, were promoted to the Rheinlandliga for the first time in the club's history, while Lina Weinitschke's D-Juniors are currently in 5th place in the Bezirksliga. Even in the area of support teams, the supposedly weaker sex is now indispensable. A FIEGE soccer holiday camp not led by Katharina Sternitzke is almost unimaginable. This season, Nina Hainke, who also plays for 1. FC Köln, is once again a strong player for the C-Juniors.

Y – Yoga:

Laughed at by many amateur soccer players, but already normal for professionals. At ABC, only the current C II juniors had experience with the teaching of mental and physical exercises until now. The last time this happened was during the winter preparation in 2020, when the team, under the guidance of yoga instructor Anne Theiss, moved to the Jenny Redmann Yoga & Pilates studio in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler (https://jenny-redmann.de/).

Spectators:

In total, 1238 spectators followed ABC's home games in 2020. This averages out to 206 spectators per home game.
