What a drama last Saturday! Our U19 fought for a 4-4 (3-3) draw on the second matchday of the Rheinlandliga in a thrilling duel against JFV Hunsrückhöhe Morbach. The match was a real rollercoaster of emotions, at least for the spectators who surely got their money's worth.
Our boys had a dream start in the very first few minutes: Elias Holzem put us in the lead in the 4th minute, and Tobias Binder followed up in the 12th minute. But the guests weren't deterred and equalized a short while later. Max Matschall put us back in the lead in the 32nd minute, but that didn't last long either, as the youth development team from Hunsrück struck again just before halftime – 3:3 at halftime! 😲
After the break, the game remained high-intensity, with chances on both sides. In the 57th minute, the visitors took the lead for the first time when Noah Herlach scored for Morbach with his second goal of the day. But our boys didn't give up! 💪 In stoppage time, it was Max Isgaem who secured the deserved point with his last-minute equalizer! A great fighting spirit that paid off in the end! 🔥
With four points from the first two games of the season, the team of head coach Timo Uhlendahl and assistant and goalkeeping coach Daniel Debus can look back on a solid start to the 2024/2025 season. Keep it up, boys! 🙌
