A summer day as painted by a painter, even though a few goodbyes awaited us. The Paradise Field in Bad Neuenahr was the stage, playground and farewell spot in one last weekend for the E2, E3 and E4 teams of the Ahrweiler BC. It wasn’t a big event, no staged season finale with trophies and pathos. But it was honest, loud, warm – just like the season itself.
Pizza was eaten (thanks, Sale e Pepe), cake was layered, parents were pitted against children (spoiler alert: not all parents had a chance), and laughter was had until it hurt—and then, eventually, tears were shed. Because this day was more than just a final straw.
⚽ Farewell with dignity – and the cup
Coach Sarah Preußner, together with Dennis Preußner, Victoria Einert and Jeffrey Yankey, looks back on a season of pace, heart and development. And with some changes: Some children leave the club to join SG Bachem/Walporzheim. Others stay – but take on new paths in other teams of the ABC. Also, coach colleague Christian Wolff was also said goodbye. One who has moved a lot with patience, attitude and humor.
And right in the middle: Eris Zogaj. Seven games, 29 goals. Pure explosiveness in the penalty area, but always with a focus on the teammates. He got our honorary trophy – and even the coolest kids clapped with genuine respect.
💬 Thank you – for everything
Organizing this season wasn’t easy. Without parents washing the jerseys, driving the teams, and living on the sidelines more than just watching, none of this would have been possible. And not without the coaching team, which is now taking on a new configuration: Sarah, Dennis, Victoria, and Jeffrey will focus on the U11 – the oldest E-Youth class. So much remains familiar – but also new.
đź–¤ Youth football remains a matter of attitude
The Ahrweiler BC is not just a club. It is also a promise: that children’s football is more than just standings. That development comes before results. And that goodbyes are part of the experience – just like trophies, pizza, and paradise fields.
We look forward to everything that comes next.
