Last Saturday, the E Juniors of Ahrweiler BC participated in the Pentecost tournament of TuS Pfaffen-Schwabenheim. The tournament served as preparation for the upcoming season and brought about some personnel changes. In addition to the five regular players from the U10 team, three players from the U11 II team were also on the field. 💪👦👧
The goal was to reach the semi-finals in two groups of seven teams each. Our team from Ahrtal, under the leadership of the coaching team for the 24/25 season – Andre Wenigmann, Darijo Matosevic, and Ralf Lauterbach – started the tournament strong. Two wins and two draws against RW Alzey, TSG Mainz-Hechtsheim, TSV Mainz-Ebersheim, and JSG Kastellauner Land ensured a promising start. 🌟
Against the eventual tournament winner, VFR Frankental, we suffered a clear defeat. Nevertheless, our boys kept fighting and achieved a 1-0 victory in the last group match. Unfortunately, despite being tied on points with TSV Mainz-Ebersheim, we didn't advance to the semi-finals due to a worse goal difference. ⚔️❤️
Our goal scorers of the day were:
Mehras Moradi (4 goals) ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
David Matosevic (3 goals) ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Yorik Welsch (2 goals) ⚽️⚽️
The coaching trio was full of praise for the excellent organization by TuS Pfaffen-Schwabenheim and also spoke very positively about the performance of our boys. "The boys really did well today," was the opinion of the ABC coaches 👏🙌
A big thank you to all the players, coaches, and parents for this exciting day and your great support! We are looking forward to the upcoming season and further successes! 🥳🎉
