The first test match after the winter break, usually not a barometer, but rather a moment that almost all footballers from List on Sylt to Oberstdorf in the Allgäu love so much and had longed for weeks. This also applies to the two B-junior teams of Ahrweiler BC, who played their first games of the winter preparation last weekend and did quite well.
The Rheinlandliga team under head coach Thomas Dressler won 5-1 (2-0) against the U16 team of SF Troisdorf. The team played with great motivation and determination and deservedly won with goals from Joel Zimmermann (2), Ilja Sihvart, Sebastian Schmidt, and Mohamednor Mohamad.
The B II juniors, who will be competing in the Leistungsklasse during the spring season, also emerged victorious against district league team JSG Asbach. Riad Bajcinca put his team ahead after 20 minutes with a directly converted free kick into the corner, making it 1-0. Shortly after the equalizer (69th minute), Etienne Koonen (61st minute) scored to seal the 1-2 final score. Coach Moritz Feigk: "That was okay. The performance was really good for the first game. We had more possession and more shots. It was fun."
The next games for the two teams are: JSG Baar vs ABC II (02/12/4:00 PM), ABC vs SV Wormersdorf (02/11/11:00 AM)
