After the B II juniors lost to JSG Nickenich last week 2:3, the team won 1:0 against the top-ranked SGL Heimersheim on Tuesday and is currently tied with Nickenich on points, two points behind the leader.
Under unfavorable conditions, the ABC youth team started against the JSG Nickenich. The team of Moritz Feigk had only ten active players available, meaning the Kreisstadtkicker had to play in a numerical disadvantage from the beginning. The Kreisstadtkicker did a very good job in this situation, but in the end it wasn’t enough. Jamal El-Toufaili and Lion Debus scored in the narrow 2:3 defeat.
On the last Tuesday, the team faced the leader and favorite of the performance class. SGL Heimersheim was the expected strong opponent, but they did not play consistently enough in front of ABC goalkeeper Leo Argendorf, so a goal by Lion Debus in the ninth minute of the game should be enough for a narrow 1:0 victory.
Next Saturday, the team will host the fourth-placed JSG Maifeld before the possibly decisive duel against SGL Heimersheim in the final league match.
