The C III team of Ahrweiler BC has caught up with the leading group in the Kreisklasse with two wins before the Easter break. Currently, the team coached by Goran Strk and managed by Alexander and Yvonne Blauhut is three points behind league leaders SG Andernach, along with three other teams tied at the same point total.
On Saturday, the C III team narrowly won 3-2 (2-1) away against SGL Heimersheim. Maurice Möhren and Ilay Gega (2) scored for the ABC juniors, who also missed a penalty. The team came back from a 0-2 deficit to win the match.
On Wednesday evening, the C III team hosted JSG Hohe Eifel Herresbach in Bachem. After an own goal in the 16th minute, Valentin Krastev and Clemens Schäfer scored to make it 2-1 at halftime. After the break, the team played with more pressure and was rewarded by goals from Oli Trshani, Valentin Krasztev, and Ilay Gega for this improvement. In the end, ABC deservedly won 5-2.
The C III can draw a very satisfactory interim balance, partly due to the Easter holidays. The season will continue on May 10th with an away game against JSG Vordereifel Kürrenberg.
