Last weekend, the D-Juniors of Ahrweiler BC proved their class at the district indoor championship. With a total of three teams, they successfully navigated through the preliminary round.
In Mendig, the D I and D II teams started their matches. The D II, composed entirely of players from the older age group, dominated with exceptional confidence, achieving 5 wins and a goal difference of 32:0. 🚀 The "First" team experienced a minor setback after a loss against the host team, JSG Vulkaneifel Mendig II. Nevertheless, the boys secured their qualification for the final round with a solid 3-0 victory against JSG Rieden, concluding the six-team round. With 13 points and a goal difference of 15:4, the ABC youth team, consisting of both older and younger age groups, secured second place in the standings.
The third team, fully stocked with the younger age group, competed in Mayen. There, they mastered the task just as clearly and confidently as the first and second teams. With four wins and a scoreless draw against the strong team of JSG Ahrtal Insul, they remained undefeated and achieved an impressive goal difference of 17:1. 💪
Overall, an extremely successful start for the 11- and 12-year-old junior footballers from the district town, whose joy of playing was reflected in the clear results. The next stop on the indoor pitch is the finals on February 4th in Mendig. 🏅
