🏆 The U11 Juniors of Ahrweiler BC are well on their way to the final of the district championship! 🏅 With a 3-1 victory against JSG Bad Breisig on Friday evening, the final, in which the two winners of the performance leagues will meet, is getting closer and closer. 💪👏 Second-placed Bad Breisig dropped to third place and, just like second-placed TuS Oberwinter, can no longer catch up to the young talents from the Ahr valley. Only Grafschafter JSG, currently fourth in the table with a game in hand, could still provide excitement.
In a thrilling game with a high level of play, the Lorenz team dominated from the start. Ole Hoischen opened the scoring with a goal in the 17th minute, but the visitors were also unlucky with two shots hitting the woodwork shortly before halftime. Tom Hildebrandt extended the lead to 2-0 shortly after the restart (27th minute), but Bad Breisig kept fighting. Floren Pupa scored to narrow the gap, but then came the decisive moment: Marian Herschbach, who was in goal in the first half, scored in the final minute to make it 3-1, securing their seventh win of the season in their eighth game after the winter break! 🎉
The championship could be sealed as early as next Tuesday with a point against JSG Ahrtal.
