++U19 SUFFERS HEAVY HOME DEFEAT – U17 COMPLETES MANDATORY TASK WITH TITLE WIN++
The U19 team suffered a bitter defeat at home on Saturday evening against SG Mülheim-Kärlich. Despite an early goal by Mika Eisenzapf giving them a 1-0 lead in the 4th minute, the team coached by head coach Timo Uhlendahl lost significantly with a score of 1-6 (1-4). This clear home defeat once again highlighted the defensive problems of the oldest ABC youth team, which has already conceded 37 goals after ten matchdays. Currently, the team still has a four-point lead over the relegation zone. A successful away performance next weekend against JSG Kannenbäcker Höhr-Grenzhausen could re-establish a connection to the middle of the league table. We wish Max Matschall a speedy recovery. He was taken to the hospital for observation after a collision, suspected of having a concussion.
After three league defeats in recent weeks, the U17 team faced Kreisklasse side JSG Stadtdörfer Hausen in the Rheinlandpokal. The favorite role seemed to suit head coach Fabian Lorca's team well: The team from the district capital established clear conditions early on and went into the halftime break with a comfortable 5-1 lead. In the end, a commanding 7-2 victory was recorded, which was never in doubt. Alexander Braun scored four goals alone, while David Lorca, Julien Kuhn, and Lorian Diabi contributed the other goals. The demanding Bezirksliga reality continues for the U17 next weekend with an away game against the second team of SG Mülheim-Kärlich.
