The U17 team of the Ahrweiler BC returned to the Rheinlandliga on the 6th matchday with a clear 6-2 away victory over the rising team Grafscahfter JSGstark. After the narrow 1-2 loss against FC Plaidt the week before, the team of coach Joe Yankey showed up from the start fully alert and controlled the match for most of the match. As early as halftime, the ABC team led 3-0 after goals by Benjamin Megow (2) and Kim Bures.
After the halftime break, the outstanding Megow added another goal to his tally, bringing his season total to eight. Alexander Braun and Serge Badagbon (symbol photo) also made it onto the scoring list – the latter received a special praise from the coaching staff. In the final phase, the hosts made up for lost time, but that did not change the dominant performance of ABC.
The away game against JSG Weißenthurm in the Rhineland Cup will begin on Tuesday, before the table-topping JSG Bremm comes to the Ahr next weekend.
