Winter access will restart at ABC again
Ahrweiler BC can report a winter signing: Saint-Ric Batantou is eligible to play immediately and was most recently active with Middle Rhine B-League team 1. FC Hardtberg.
The 24-year-old attacking player attracted attention early on with his good performances and made a total of 24 Bundesliga appearances for Bonner SC and Viktoria Köln during his time as an A and B junior. The native of Bocholt's first senior club was VfL Alfter, with whom the quick and strong 1.86 meter tall center forward was promoted to the Mittelrheinliga, even though a personal breakthrough was denied to him for the time being. In 2018, a sabbatical was followed by an Achilles tendon rupture. Most recently, the left-footed player was active for B-League side FC Hardtberg, where he scored four goals in the five league games played so far. "I want to develop further athletically, get back on track, and I'm grateful that ABC is offering me this opportunity," explains Batantou.
"Saint-Ric will attack here with us again. He is offensively flexible and fits our long-term squad strategy. We will support him in all aspects and wish him a successful future without serious injuries," says Gianfranco Di Francesco, the head of the senior department.
Welcome Saint-Ric!
