Realignment planned for U19 team
Ahrweiler BC and U19 coach Timo Uhlendahl will be parting ways starting this summer. The decision was made by mutual agreement after intensive discussions between youth director Gerd Treffer and the departing coach. This marks the end of a two-year collaboration with the experienced youth coach.
Uhlendahl took over the reins of the club's oldest youth team in the summer of 2023. In his first season, the team finished in tenth and last place in the championship round. Currently, with two matchdays remaining in the season, the team is in 9th place in the 15-team league.
Uhlendahl's sporting career continues – with a move to the youth division of one of the most successful clubs in the Middle Rhine Football Association. Ahrweiler BC explicitly thanks him for his commitment and wishes him all the best for his future, both in sports and personally!
Regional League in Sight – ABC Plans Overhaul for U19 Team
With the departure of the coach, the starting gun has also been fired for a structural realignment. "We want to completely reorient ourselves in the A-youth sector," explains youth director Gerd Treffer. The goal is to significantly strengthen the connection to the senior department, especially to the first team.
But that's not all: In the long term, the path should lead towards the Regionalliga. An ambitious but clear goal that will be consistently pursued in the coming years.
Treffer is currently in talks with several candidates for the U19 coaching position. However, there will be no quick decision. "We are taking the necessary time to find the right coach," emphasizes Treffer. Interested coaches with the appropriate qualifications can contact the youth management immediately.
Ahrweiler BC is looking ahead – with new momentum, new goals, and a clear vision: The youth players are to lay the foundation for a strong sporting future.
