The U12 team of Ahrweiler BC presented themselves in good form for the upcoming season with a clear 6-1 (3-1) victory in a test match against TuS Oberwinter. Under the guidance of coach Gerd Treffer and co-coach Bella Angelova, the U12 showed that they are ready for the upcoming challenges.
This friendly match was an important step for the youngest U13 junior players from the district town, as they competed on a nine-a-side field for the first time, having previously played on a seven-a-side field as U11 players. In the first half, the players had to get used to the new conditions. However, in the second half, they showed their true potential and increasingly pushed TuS Oberwinter into a defensive position.
The team managed to achieve a 3-1 lead as early as the first half. Orestis Kasa, Olsi Zoigaj, and an own goal by the home team ensured a comfortable lead at halftime. However, the young talents of Ahrweiler BC were not satisfied with that. After the break, they continued to showcase their skills and scored more goals. Lasse Claesgens, Carlos Hanna, and Benjamin Faltin added their names to the list of goal scorers, highlighting their class on the field.
This test match victory gives the E-Juniors, last season's vice district champions, a lot of confidence for the upcoming season opener. On Friday, September 8th, a home game against SGL Heimersheim awaits the young players, and they are ready to give their best.
