++U14 DES AHRWEILER BC: A TEAM WITH POTENTIAL – LOOKING BACK AT A SEASON OF GROWTH++

When the youth department of Ahrweiler BC looks back at the past season, one answer is almost unanimous: "Clearly, the U14." This refers to the younger age group of the C-Juniors, who not only impressed with their athletic performance in the Bezirksliga but also stood out especially for their remarkable development – both individually and as a team.

Under the leadership of the coaching team, including head coach Senad Sukic, goalkeeping coach Peter Sahl, and team coordinator Jörg Printzen – who, until spring, worked alongside Vahidin Cahtarevic, now promoted to assistant coach of the U19 team – a unit formed that impressed with its game maturity, tactical flexibility, and a strong willingness to learn. The deserved reward: a respectable fifth place in a highly competitive district league.

The team also caused a stir in the Rheinland Cup. In the fourth round, they forced Rheinlandliga team FC Rot-Weiß Koblenz into a dramatic penalty shootout – the unfortunate elimination in this match could not tarnish the overall impression of an extremely successful season.

Offensively, the team shone with remarkable determination: Leon Bertram (15 goals), Noah Richter (14), Raphael Saftig (10), and Joel Pullera (9) led an attack that regularly generated excitement. However, the sporting success was always also the result of cohesive teamwork, sustained by mutual trust and professional training.

In the upcoming season, this team – then as U15 – will compete in the Rheinlandliga. A challenge the team faces with self-confidence. For the new season, the squad will be selectively changed: Around half a dozen new external players will join to provide new momentum. These are offset by a similar number of departures – including some internal transfers within the club's performance-oriented youth structure. For example, defender Joah Poweleit, who convinced throughout the entire season, will move up to the U17 early. As with Poweleit, the assessment for Milan Wittenborg is also: "Has developed wonderfully."

This openness within the club underscores the clear philosophy of Ahrweiler BC: to actively nurture talent, develop individual strengths, and give players responsibility early on—both on and off the field.

Ahrweiler BC thanks all involved – players, coaches, parents, and supporters – for a season that brought much more than points on paper. It was a season full of growth, emotional moments, and sporting highlights.

The U15 team for the upcoming season remains one to watch. It’s a special group of players from whom we can expect great things.
