Unlike the first team a week earlier, which won 5-1 away against FSV Trier-Tarforst, the U19 match on Saturday clearly went to the visitors from the Moselle - also 5-1. Timo Uhlendahl's team managed to hold a surprising 1-1 until the 80th minute before the second-placed team in the A-Junioren-Rheinlandliga lived up to their favorite role in the last ten minutes.
The oldest ABC youth team played with a lot of passion and commitment from the first minute against the promotion candidate from the Trier heights. The ABC even managed to equalize the away team's lead from the 41st minute. Once again, for the 18th time this season, Max Isgaem (50') scored after a pass from Mika Eisenzapf. The guests had possession advantages for almost the entire game, but rarely created clear chances in front of ABC keeper Nils Hensel's goal. However, the quality difference became visible in the crunch time of the match. Between the 80th and 88th minute, the ball went into the ABC net four times. A deserved away win, perhaps by one or two goals too many.
This coming Saturday, an away match against SG Mülheim-Kärlich is scheduled – a showdown between eighth and ninth place in the standings.
