++U23 WINS 6-5 THRILLER AGAINST A-LEAGUE SIDE SPICH II++

The Ahrweiler BC U23 team showed spirit and a hunger for goals in their third test match today, Sunday. Facing Mittelrhein-A-League side 1. FC Spich II, coach Ricardo Ribeiro's team emerged victorious after an exciting 90 minutes with a 6-5 (2-3) win. The start was a nightmare, with Spich scoring twice in the first two minutes. However, Elvedin Hamza and Michel Wagneder kept the ABC U23 in the game, with each scoring a hat-trick and contributing two assists. Between the 60th and 70th minutes, the visitors turned the tide and extended their lead to 6-3, before Spich narrowed the gap again in the final sprint. "We still have a lot of work ahead of us," summarized team coordinator Christopher Breuer, who saw deficits despite the goal festival. The dress rehearsal is approaching: TuS Mayen II awaits in the district cup on August 2nd, before the league opener against DJK Plaidt a week later.
